In order to manually update the theme, you will need to first download the theme from the Theme Forest downloads section (WordPress Themes & Website Templates from ThemeForest ) and extract the zip file. It is important to note that the zip file containing the actual theme will always contain a style.css file. Once the above is done carry out the following either of the following options:
Option 1
- Ensure that you carry out a full backup to your site
- Log into FTP Account using FileZilla or similar program
- Go to wp-content/themes directory
- Move to the theme folder that you want to update, which in this case is “woffice”
- Upload all files from the zip file you downloaded and extracted, to the directory on FTP we found in step #4 above. Here you can replace all previous WOffice theme files
- Navigate to the Appearance > Install Plugins section within your WordPress dashboard
- Update the WOffice Core plugin as well as any other plugin with pending updates
Option 2
- Navigate to the Appearance > Themes section within your WordPress dashboard
- Click on the “Add New Theme” button on the top left.
- Click on the “Upload theme” button that appears next
- Upload the theme zip file that you downloaded within the upload section rendered
- Overwrite the existing theme
- Navigate to the Appearance > Install Plugins section within your WordPress dashboard
- Update the WOffice Core plugin as well as any other plugin with pending updates
Rolling back an update
If you encounter an issue after updating the theme, you can rollback Woffice to any version at any time.
This is possible thanks to the online Woffice archiver that let you download any release: https://hub.woffice.io/woffice/updater
Whenever you have the version you want to rollback, you just need to follow the steps from “Manual Updates” in the above section.
